On Friday afternoon, before all of the schools closed early because of the "inclement weather",
K's class at Mother's Day Out invited the parents for a Valentine's Day party. Happy Valentine's Day to everybody!!

As you can see, K thoroughly enjoys a holiday that celebrates love.....and chocolate!!

K's teacher gave out a balloon to each child...balloons continue to be one of K's favorite
things!! And I was proud of her because she asked if she could have one to share
with her little brother....ah, music to my ears---maybe she IS listening!! ha ha

K always has a hug to give her BFF, Ginnylu (especially when Ginnylu still has some cookie cake left!!)

K runs to Miss Lisa (Ginnylu and Daisy's mama) every time we see her and tells me multiple times a week that she
"loves Miss Lisa SOOOOO much"

We are so excited that another one of our teams, the Indianapolis Colts, is in the championship game!! While we
love Drew Brees from the Saints since he is a Purdue man, we will be 100% behind the Colts on Sunday. We've already
let ourselves daydream....what if Alabama and the Colts both won it all in the same year?! Throw in Purdue going to the
final 4 and S and I would both be in sports heaven!!

We have no shame----the indoctrination has started quite young!!

Forget "who dat?" Who's #1?? K knows!!

Let's get fired up!!

10 months

Hard to believe our little guy is 10 months old already....I just can't believe that he will be one soon!!
Despite a rough month of trying to cut his two top teeth, he is a happy little boy and LOVES to eat anything
and everything. He's pulling up and cruising around furniture and can now crawl very quickly but, still hasn't
attempted to stand alone. He "talks" and babbles constantly and absolutely adores his big sister!! And the
funniest new trick is that when he hears music (from a toy, TV, K singing, whatever) he starts shaking his little
bottom. Maybe he'll have his Daddy's rhythm and dance moves!!

MLK Day meant no mother's day out so, the kids and I spent the day with our precious neighbors, the
Howard girls. Ginnylu and Daisy are 13 months apart and K's birthday is right between them--they are her
best friends in the world and their mommy is one of mine!!

We started the day with haircuts for all 3 girls and then had lunch at a favorite restaurant. Little man was along
for the ride and enjoyed his time with the big girls. The crazy thing is that about 3 hours after these pictures were
taken, K and I were both violently ill with the stomach virus. Thankfully, the Howard family didn't get it from us---it
was awful and I would never want to pass that on!!

This is K's 3rd haircut and she is almost 3!! She has slow-growing, very fine hair---the opposite of her mommy!!

I was surprised K let him blow dry her hair but, she seemed to enjoy every minute of her pampering!!

National Champions!!

The Alabama Crimson Tide, 2009 National Champions!! Has quite a ring to it, doesn't it?!
We are THRILLED and so proud of our team and their excellent season. Oh and there is
more big news in our lives...ha ha

S officially started his job in Nashville last week and is really enjoying it so far. As with anything
new, there is a huge learning curve but, he is excited and up for the challenge!! He is already
travel weary, particularly since his first 2 weeks on the job included meetings in Atlanta and
New Orleans, in addition to working in Nashville while having a home in Birmingham!!
We were extremely fortunate to sell our house in Alabama in 2 short weeks (praise the Lord!!)
and will close with that couple (who moved here from Nashville, ironically) on Feb. 12th. We
are now full-steam ahead with a house hunt in TN and are praying that God will lead us to our
next home soon!!

We are on round two of potty training with K and we've had a considerable amount of ups and
downs but, we'll get there!! A had his 9 month check-up last week and weighs a whopping 20 lbs.
9 ozs. AT NINE MONTHS!! Maybe he'll be a football player?! With the way he eats, it's a real possibility.
We've been introducing more table foods to him in the last week and he is eating us out of house and home!!
The first time I gave him meat and real vegetables (not baby food) he looked at me with an expression
like "why have you been holding out on me?!" He promptly polished off his plate which had the same
amount of chicken,rice, veggies and a roll that K's did!!

Christmas 2009

Happy New Year!! We wish you all the best in 2010!! We had a great Christmas many times over---we celebrated multiple
times with different groups of family...first in Haleyville, Alabama (my mom's hometown) with aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.,
then in Birmingham with my immediate family and then in Indiana with S's immediate family. We had a ball at all three
celebrations and are sooooooo fortunate to have such wonderful family on both sides. K and A loved every minute of it,
as you will see....

to him that day

Needless to say, this year's trip to Santa Claus was an absolute disaster.
K had talked about meeting Santa all day.
She even waved at Santa when he returned from his dinner break.
...But once she got within 10 feet of the bearded one, she began to wail !!!
The kicker is that during dinner K turned to us and said " that was fun! "

Back Home Again in Indiana...

Between the beach 2 weeks ago and a trip to Indiana last week, the Corbin family has been burning up I-65!! We had
a great visit with S's parents and brother and extended family from California. We had a blast introducing K and A
to their cousins and since this was A's first trip to Indiana, we were also glad to show him off to several friends.

Little man is 5 months old and growing like a weed...

We had a wonderful time in Florida last week with my family on our annual beach trip!! It was especially fun to see K
another year older and really enjoying the sand and the water. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and A
enjoyed his first of many beach trips!!

Firsts and Seconds...

This week included K's first day of Mother's Day Out and her 2nd haircut. Due to some "issues" A was having,
and the fact that apple juice wasn't doing the trick, our pediatrician recommended that we go ahead and give him some
baby food fruits. So, we started with the powerful prunes and although he didn't particularly care for them, within 36 hours,
we had success!! We've now moved on to pears and he likes those MUCH better.

I've had several out-of-town friends ask me what we did for A's nursery....since we don't find out the sex ahead of time,
we already had a gender-neutral nursery. So, we moved K into a "big girl" room and kept the baby's room the same, with
the exception of the name on the wall and a few little "boy" touches. Here is a visual tour of both rooms for those of you
who are interested....

If you remember when K was in this room, her letters were in white and looked a little more feminine.

This is K's new room. She still sleeps in the crib but, her "big girl" bed is ready for her when she is ready for a twin.
I am happy to say that EVERYTHING in this room (furniture, accessories, curtains, rugs) except for the wall letters and
bedding came from Wal-mart!! yeah!!

We continue to have an awesome summer and our kids make us laugh every day!! The highlight of my month was a
girls' getaway to a friend's beachhouse last weekend. S was Superdad/Mr. Mom and with the generous help of my parents, held the fort down while I was away for 3 days. It was a MUCH needed (and I must admit, I feel that it was deserved ) break from the daily routine and I came back feeling mentally, physically, emotionally and spirtiually recharged. Let me also say that S is absolutely deserving of some time to himself and is planning a guy's weekend in the fall. It was great to get away for a break and it was also wonderful to come home to my awesome family!!

ADC had his 4 month check-up yesterday and weighs a whopping 14 lbs 13 ounces and is 25 1/4 inches long!!

SO bored with the outfit changes and picture taking....
